Booster Pumps for Shower, Mains, Combi Boiler, Borehole
Dec 08, 2017 · Q. What is a boiler feed booster pump, and why are they required in some power plants? A. Large fossil fuel power plants use high pressure and temperature boiler feed systems, which generally require large or high speed boiler feed pumps with controlled-compression gasketed joints. This is accomplished by selecting pumps of either barrel (BB5) (see Figure 3.8) or ring-section (BB4) design.

How to increase water pressure in a shower with a combi boiler
Feed water pumps (FWP) pump the feed water from the de-aerator through the HP heaters to the boiler. The major characteristic of FWP is their high differential head. In medium to large size coal- and oil-fired power plants, the main FWP are horizontal barrel type while booster pumps are horizontal single stage double suction type.
A single pump will provide a 0.2-0.4 bar boost which is all you should need for an electric shower, but we recommend a SP21S double boost upstream of a Combi Boiler to protect a single tap or shower. The Shower Power Booster pump which does not cut out due to low mains pressure will protect multiple showers if each shower is protected with its own pump on the hot side of the Combi.
