Boiler feed pumps are complex. Data should include all operating variables; i.e., flows, pressures, temperatures. Data from turbine-driven boiler feed pumps should be collected in the same manner as for a turbine generator. Phase and amplitude data should be included with normal vibration data.

In particular your attention is directed to Table 5 Vibration Limits for Overhung and Between Bearings Pumps where the limit on the pump shaft, measured adjacent to the bearing, is (8000/N)^0.5 mils peak to peak, not to exceed 2.0 mils. I was incorrect in previously stating the expression was (12000/N)^0.5.

For the BOILER FEED pump the vibration readings show that values are more than normal readings. Spectrum analysis was done on readings and found that mass unbalance in vanes. It was corrected based on phase analysis and vibration readings were observed after modification which gives the values with in normal range.
